The Eagleville faculty, staff, and outside resources provide a variety of before and after school activities for students at Eagleville Elementary School. These activities help students enhance their self-esteem and social skills while enabling them to continue building their educational foundation.
Before and After school activities include the following:
The Art Club program at Eagleville meets Thursday afternoons in the Art Room. Any 4th grader is invited to participate. Permission slips go home in September. There are 2 groups in Art club, the Gold Group and the Blue Group. Each group meets on alternate Thursdays. Art club will take several field trips during the year including the Herr's Chip Factory and Longwood Gardens and the Philadelphia Flower Show. The students will also have the opportunity to explore many exciting and creative projects.
After School Sports
The After-School Sports program at Eagleville builds fitness through fun. It is recommended that children participate in physical activity for at least sixty minutes per day. This program affords 4th grade students the opportunity to get an hour of physical activity, while learning and practicing sport specific skills. The activities vary according to the season and student interest. Several mini-games happen simultaneously to allow for maximum participation and less frustration . Proper conduct and good sportsmanship are stressed on an on-going basis because of their importance in game situations, as well as, everyday interactions with family members, teachers and friends. .After school sports will meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the gym.
Chess Club meets Wednesdays after school in the library. This program is sponsered from an outside source.
Environmental Club is held on Thursday afternoons in RM 109. It is open to all fourth grade students. There are 2 groups in Envrionemtal club, that will meet on alternate Thursdays. The club is a very active club - the members participate in many hands on activities including developing and maintaining the Butterfly Garden, Promise Garden and the Anniversary Garden. The members also collect and maintain the school wide recycling program - (paper and plastic). Throughout the year the members also plant flowers, go on field trips, host special events and listen to guest speakers. The children also conduct three fund raisers during the course of the school year - the Fall Nut Sale, the T-shirt sale in the spring and the Mother's Day Flower Sale also in the spring. Proceeds raised are used to maintain and develop club projects. c
Science Explorers meets Thursdays after school in the RM 205. This program is sponsered from an outside source.
