The Methacton School District contracts with Aramark to manage the Food Service Program, providing breakfast and lunch in all our schools. Although Aramark runs the daily operations of the program, the district sets policies and lunch prices. For the 2016-2017 school year, lunch prices are $2.65 for elementary school students, $2.95 Arcola Intermediate School and Skyview Upper Elementary School, and $3.15 for high school students. A premium lunch is available at MHS at a cost of $4.10, and at Arcola for $3.95. The price for breakfast in our elementary schools is $1.25, $1.90 at Skyview and Arcola schools, and $2.65 at MHS. Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Reduced price is .30 for breakfast and .40 for lunch.
The district participates in the National School Lunch Program in all eight schools. This program provides state and federal subsidies for breakfasts and lunches served in the schools. In return for this subsidy, the district must serve meals that meet the NSLP nutrition and portion guidelines. As a result of changes related to the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, certain changes were made to the guidelines set based on participation in the NSLP.
